Redefining the Future of Heart Failure Treatment
The Corisma MCS Pump is a fully implanted transcatheter system designed to bridge the gap from acute care to chronic care and improve quality of life with unprecedented simplicity.
Challenging the Status Quo of Heart Failure Treatment
For too long, advanced heart failure has meant choosing between immense risk and limited quality of life. Corisma was founded to change that. Born in the innovative Bonde Artificial Heart Lab at Yale University, we are redefining what’s possible with a fully implanted trans catheter system that aims to make today’s standard of care obsolete. Our mission is to offer a more dignified empowering solution.
This device is under development and not yet approved.
Innovation with a Conscience
Mission
To alleviate the suffering caused by advanced heart failure by providing a safer, less invasive, and more dignified treatment option for patients and their families.
Vision
To set a new global standard for heart failure therapy, improving outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and reducing the overall burden on healthcare systems - making treatment accessible for all.
A Revolution in Healthcare
Wireless Freedom. Gentle Flow. More Patients. More Possibilities.
Others have a Pump, CoRISMA has a Platform.
A Paradigm Shift in Mechanical Circulatory Support
One Device for All
Our catheter-based approach bridges acute and chronic treatments with one device, virtually eliminating multiple procedures.
Tether-free Therapy
We’ve eliminated the driveline, the biggest compromise in current device technology, to truly set patients free.
Gentle Flow
A pump designed not just to move blood, but to do so with unmatched physiological compatibility.
Reliable Stability
Our nest design keeps the pump in place, reducing the need for constant monitoring.
From Surgical Insight to Technological Innovation
The seed for Corisma was planted in the operating room. Our founder, Dr. Pramod Bonde, a cardiac surgeon at Yale New Haven Hospital, witnessed firsthand the immense trauma of open-heart surgery and the challenges patients faced with existing mechanical circulatory support devices - particularly the life-limiting risk of driveline infections.
Dr. Bonde asked a simple but powerful question: “What if we could support a failing heart without breaking the chest? What if we could eliminate the driveline entirely?”
These questions drove the research in the Bonde Artificial Heart Lab at Yale University. For years, the team explored trans catheter approaches and wireless energy transmission, pioneering the core technologies that would become the Corisma system. Corisma was officially spun out of Yale to translate this groundbreaking academic research into a life-changing commercial product.
